Why Living with Allergies Shouldn’t Limit You: Our Project Is Born
Our Story
We are Dayna, Ricardo, and Lucas — a family who, just a few years ago, had no idea how much our relationship with food was about to change.
It all began when our son Lucas, only 7 years old at the time, started experiencing discomfort and symptoms that no doctor could fully explain.
Months went by filled with tests, diets, doubts, and constant worry…
until we finally received a diagnosis:
Eosinophilic Esophagitis (EoE) — a condition related to food allergies, in his case milk and eggs.
When Everyday Life Becomes a Challenge
From one day to the next, what used to be normal —
eating out, traveling, celebrating a birthday — became a challenge.
Every label had to be read three times.
Every outing required careful planning.
And the hardest part wasn’t the restrictions themselves,
but seeing how uncertainty replaced peace of mind.
Turning Fear into Action
During this journey, we discovered something very important:
We were not alone.
There were many families going through the same thing — searching for information, advice, and places where they could eat without fear.
But we also noticed something else:
much of the information was scattered, incomplete, or focused on countries whose reality is very different from ours.
That’s how Allergy Trip Blog was born —
first as an idea, then as a necessity:
A space to share real experiences, safe recipes,
and tips for traveling and eating with confidence.
Later, this dream grew even bigger.
Why not create a collaborative app where people with allergies can recommend safe restaurants and hotels?
A community where trust is built together.
Our Purpose
We want to show that living with allergies does not mean living in fear.
With empathy, information, and mutual support, we can once again enjoy what once felt impossible:
- A family dinner
- A trip
- A shared ice cream without fear
Allergy Trip is not just our project.
It’s a way to give hope back to those who are just starting this journey and still feel surrounded by uncertainty.
